The Poem

In class we read  a poem  wrote by Martian Neimoller.  After we read this poem we started to put groups of people and actions in our school. Here is a copy of Martian Neimollers poem.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out —
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out —
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out —
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me — and there was no one left to speak for me.

Now here is my version of the poem.

First they bullied the nerds,
And I did not speak out-
Because I  was not a nerd.

Then they hurt the jocks,
And I did not speak out-
Because I was not a jock.

Then they abused the goths,
And I did not speak out-
Because I was not a goth.

Then they crushed me-
And there was no one left to speak for me.
